GOOD NEWS!! for the kids .. Intel is now in the process of developing a specially integrated Laptop for the kids which can sustain rough handling. Its been designed keeping in mind for school going kids in the age group of 7-18 . Though its for the kids but the configurations are not kiddish in any way..It has got Mobile X86 processor with OS Windows or Linux. This new Intel's Classmate PC is compatible with a wide range of standard PC sofwares available
Features:
900 Mhz Intel Mobile processor.
256 MB of RAM.
a seven inch LCD with resolution of 800x480.
six-cell battery that provides approximately four hours of uptime when fully charged.
It uses a 1GB NAND flash drive for storage.
Built-in Ethernet and 802.11G wireless hardware.
Intel Corporation has also come up with the idea of branding the device with the school's badge being imprinted on a cloth covered casing to reduce the chances of being stolen or resold than a conventional laptop . This lappy is going to hit the stores for sale in September this year and will cost around 890$ ( approx ) . So kids..be techie with you new lappy
